Lisa Burton

Lisa Burton is the director of alumni relations for the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets. She previously served as the assistant director of alumni relations since October 2025. 

Burton is a graduate of California State University in Los Angeles. Prior to her employment at Virginia Tech, she served as the executive assistant to the vice president for advancement and then as the presidential special events coordinator at Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, California. While at Harvey Mudd College, she assisted in planning and executing events that were primarily focused on enhancing the visibility of the university president and the college. These events included regional gatherings organized by the Office of College Advancement, the university's presidential inauguration, and the Presidential Conversation Regional Series.

In 2024, Burton came to Virginia Tech to serve in the Office of Advancement as a special events coordinator, organizing signature events to celebrate donors, alumni, and students.

She resides in Blacksburg and loves spending time with family, reading, hunting through bookstores, hiking, and exploring Virginia.
