Highty-Tighty Alumni Reunion
It’s time to get excited for the 2024 Highty-Tighty Reunion!
This year’s event is Oct. 25-26, alongside the Virginia Tech Homecoming weekend.
The Highty-Tighty alumni band is the heartbeat of Virginia Tech Homecoming. For more than four decades, our alumni have marched in the parade and performed at the football pre-game show with current Highty-Tighties.
Registration ends two weeks prior to Highty-Tighty Reunion on Oct. 18, so don't wait!
It doesn't matter if your musical skills have diminished, or if you can no longer play your instrument. All Highty-Tighty alumni are invited to join us. Need to borrow an instrument? You can indicate that on your registration form.
Participation in the parade and pre-game performance requires proper attire: khaki pants/skirt (no shorts please), white shirt (with Virginia Tech tie for men), official Highty-Tighty sweater or the new pullover, and Highty-Tighty hat. Hats are $10 and can be purchased through the registration process.
Our reunion is a great time for all who have been a part of the regimental band to come together, to march again as a unit, and to continue to share the common experience of the Highty-Tighties.
Lodging
A limited block of rooms is reserved for Highty-Tighty Reunion at The Inn at Virginia Tech. A link to make reservations will be provided in your registration confirmation email.
Football Tickets
Tickets for the Georgia Tech vs. Virginia Tech football game are $50 each using the Highty-Tighties Alumni promotional code when purchased directly through the Athletic Department. The link will be provided in the confirmation email upon registration.

Homecoming Pass in Review in honor of the Class of 1974
Located on the Drillfield starting at 3:30 p.m. There will be a seating area reserved for Class of 1974 (folding chairs next to the reviewing podium.) Old Guard inductees who will receive their certificates prior to the ceremony must contact Edie at vtccalumni@vt.edu or emmf@vt.edu and will meet at the seating area at 3:00 p.m.
Virginia Tech Homecoming Parade
Route will go through downtown Blacksburg. Parade starts at 7 p.m. All HTs marching in the parade will meet at the staging area (parking lot of Blacksburg Municipal Building at intersection of Main St and Washington St) in the proper uniform at 6:30 p.m. Families can register for the VTCC Homecoming Parade Watch Party in front of Pearson Hall East. Virginia Tech Foundation, Inc. (vt.edu) You can drop them off with Edie starting 5 p.m.
GunnyFest
Follows the parade and will begin at 9 p.m. at the Blacksburg Hilton Garden Inn at 900 Plantation Road.
Combined Band Practice
Practice will be on the Drillfield at 8:00 a.m.
Football vs Georgia Tech
Kickoff time 12 p.m. NOON, Lane Stadium. Please form up in the proper uniform outside the southwest tunnel by 11 a.m.
Highty-Tighty Annual Alumni/Cadet Meal
Dinner will be at Dietrick Dining Hall immediately following the game.
