Brand Foundation
The Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets, as a sub-brand of the university, supports the university brand, but has a mission that deviates from the primary educational mission of the university. Instead of using the university brand logo as its main identifier, a sub-brand has a distinct identity and references the university brand logo in a secondary position whenever possible in its materials and assets, depending on the space to do so. In instances where explicit recognition of the university affiliation is required, a sub-brand may utilize a logo lockup. In the case of the Corps of Cadets distinct identity, the words Virginia Tech are part of its name and should always be used in first reference in written form. As a sub-brand, the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets uses its own brand guidelines that are created with Marketing and Brand Management to complement Virginia Tech’s brand guidelines.
The Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets brand guidelines are reflected and explained in this document. These guidelines should be followed with the same attention as those of the university. They are designed to work in harmony.
All uses of the Virginia Tech university brand logo must adhere to the university Brand Guidelines. University trademarks that fall outside of the Corps brand must adhere to the university brand guidelines.
