The regimental band is known for its winning record in competitive parades, and each year its senior leaders try to include at least one major parade on the band's calendar. In recent years, the Highty-Tightie have participated in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City; the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Savannah, Georgia; the Mardi Gras Parade in New Orleans; the 2010 Virginia Governor's Inaugural Parade; and the 2004 Presidential Inaugural Parade. In addition, the band performs for local Veterans Day events, Christmas parades, and other events as time permits.

The Highty-Tighties conduct the majority of the pre-game shows for Virginia Tech's home football games in Lane Stadium, marches at least one halftime show, and shares in the halftime show at the Virginia Tech Homecoming Game. The Highty-Tighties also represent the university at selected away football games. The band has numerous performances posted to YouTube that you may wish to explore.

As a regimental band, we provide the musical component for all formal military parades that the Corps of Cadets conducts. Most of these events fall on Saturdays, and we would be happy to have you visit with us at Virginia Tech and attend one of the military parades as you explore the university.
